Add the First Resident (Owner)
Adding an Owner or Tenant from the Accounts module, unit selection, phone/email, and password setting.
For dues to be accrued and the resident panel to be usable, each unit must have at least one owner. In this step, we will add the first resident from the Accounts module.
1. Go to the Accounts page
Click the Accounts link in the left menu. At the top of the page, the DataTable-filtered resident list appears, with a new account add button (split-button) in the upper right.
2. Press the Add Resident button
Press the green Add Resident button at the upper right. (The ▾ arrow next to it also opens the Add Supplier and Add Staff options; this guide covers the resident flow.)
3. Select the account type
In the New Resident form that opens, there are two type options:
- Owner — Can select multiple units (e.g., an owner with two units).
- Tenant — Selects only one unit.
4. Select the unit(s)
Press the Select Unit button. In the Unit Selection modal that opens:
- Select a Block at the top; all units in that block are listed as a card grid.
- You can narrow the view with the All / Empty / Occupied filter.
- Click the unit card to select it (Owner selects multiple, Tenant selects one).
5. Fill in the personal information
Fill in the fields in order:
- Full Name (required)
- Phone — International code + number. Required if the resident will log into the resident panel by SMS.
- Email (optional)
- Password — If left blank, the system generates a random 6-digit password and shows it to you.
- ID Number, Date of Birth, Profession (optional)
6. Opening balance (optional)
If this resident has a carryover debt or receivable from a previous management, mark the amount and direction (debt/receivable) from the Opening Balance section of the form. This is recorded as an initial movement of type "Account Carryover."
7. Save
Press the Save button at the bottom of the form. The resident is created and you return to the Accounts list; the newly added resident appears with their avatar.
Next step
Complex, block, unit, and at least one resident are ready. Now it's time to accrue the first dues.
