Why Is Complex Security Important?

Especially in large complexes and residences, security is one of the most important expectations of residents. Services such as entrance control, patrols, and camera monitoring are within the scope of security. However, security service is not provided arbitrarily but according to specific legislation.

Private Security Legislation

Private security guards work within the scope of the relevant legislation (the private security law and its regulations). To be a security guard, there are specific training, certification, and permit requirements. The complex meets the security service either by directly employing persons who meet these requirements or by procuring service from an authorized private security company.

The Security Guard\'s Powers

The security guard\'s powers are limited and defined by legislation. The guard uses defined powers to ensure the security of the complex; however, they are not a law-enforcement officer and do not have unlimited authority to intervene. Knowing the powers correctly protects both the guard and management from legal risk.

Employment or Service Procurement?

The complex may directly employ security guards or procure service from a security company. In direct employment, social security, occupational safety, and personnel obligations belong to management. In service procurement, these pass to the company, but the service contract must be well managed. Relationship with Camera and KVKK

Security service is often accompanied by a camera system. Camera footage is personal data and is subject to KVKK rules. • Employing an uncertified guard: Not complying with private security requirements creates legal risk.
• Exceeding the limits of authority: The guard is not law enforcement; their powers are defined.
